Limited Lifetime Warranty

Cangshan Cutlery Company

At Cangshan Cutlery Company, we are committed to delivering precision, performance, and peace of mind. That is why every Cangshan knife is backed by a Limited Lifetime Warranty against defects in materials and/or craftsmanship. This warranty is valid for the lifetime of the original purchaser if the knives are used for standard food preparation and maintained according to our care guidelines.

Warranty Coverage

Cangshan warrants that its knives and cutlery products will be free from defects in materials and/or craftsmanship for the lifetime of the original owner, under normal home use and care.

This warranty covers:

  • Structural integrity and performance issues caused by manufacturing defects.
  • All components of the product, including handle and blade, unless noted in the exclusions.

Limited Edition Knives

Limited edition and discontinued knives are covered under this warranty. However, due to their limited availability, an identical replacement may not always be possible. If your limited-edition knife is approved for replacement and no stock is available, we will provide a replacement product of equal value, based on the item’s price at original time of purchase.

Warranty Exclusions

This warranty does not cover the following:

  • Damage from normal wear and tear.
  • Damage due to dropping, which can result in bent tips and/or cracked or broken blades.
  • Damage caused by acts of God (e.g., fire, flood).
  • Rust, discoloration, or damage from prolonged exposure to moisture.
  • Damage due to improper storage or misuse (e.g., cutting non-food materials).
  • Damage resulting from neglect or theft.
  • Damage resulting from improper use of sharpening tools or use of non-recommended sharpening tools or services.
  • Any issues with wooden components, as wood is a natural material sensitive to environmental conditions.

This warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original owner.

Remedy

If a product or part is found to be defective under this warranty, Cangshan will, at its discretion:

  • Replace it with the same item (if available) or a comparable item of equal value.

Approved replacements are provided at no cost to you. Cangshan will cover the cost of return shipping for warranty-covered products.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS IS LIMITED TO REPLACEMENT AS SET FORTH IN THIS WARRANTY STATEMENT. NEITHER ANY PERFORMANCE NOR OTHER CONDUCT, NOR ANY ORAL OR WRITTEN INFORMATION, STATEMENT OR ADVICE PROVIDED BY US OR ANY OF OUR AGENTS OR EMPLOYEES WILL CREATE A WARRANTY, OR IN ANY WAY INCREASE THE SCOPE OR DURATION OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.

Submitting a Warranty Claim

If you believe your knife is defective and may be covered under warranty, please email our Customer Experience Team at info@cangshancutlery.com with the following details:

  • Your full name, mailing address, and phone number.
  • A description of the issue and the item number (found on the knife blade).
  • Proof of purchase (receipt or order confirmation).
  • High-resolution photos that show the issue in detail, as well as a full image of the entire knife.

In most cases, we can assess your claim based on the information and photos provided. However, if a visual review is not sufficient, we may request that you send the knife to us for further inspection. If needed, we will provide detailed shipping instructions and the appropriate return address.

International Claims

If you are located outside the U.S. or purchased your item through an Amazon international account you are responsible for all shipping, customs, and duty fees related to your claim. Cangshan is unable to cover international shipping or customs costs for warranty replacements.

Additional Rights for Consumers in Australia and New Zealand

Australia
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

New Zealand
This warranty is provided in addition to the rights and remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA). Our products are guaranteed to be of acceptable quality. If they fail to meet this standard, you are entitled to a replacement, or refund, depending on the nature of the fault. For serious failures, you are entitled to choose between a refund or a replacement.

Important Notes

  • Use knives responsibly. Misuse or use outside normal food preparation voids this warranty.
  • Do not wash knives in the dishwasher. High heat and detergent can cause permanent damage.
  • Always buy from authorized retailers to ensure your product is authentic and eligible for warranty support. If unsure, contact info@cangshancutlery.com before purchasing.

Limitation of Liability

THE REMEDIES DESCRIBED ABOVE ARE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDIES AND OUR ENTIRE OBLIGATION AND LIABILITY FOR ANY BREACH OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. OUR LIABILITY WILL UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES EXCEED THE ACTUAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT THAT YOU HAVE PURCHASED, NOR WILL WE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES OR LOSSES, WHETHER DIRECT OR INDIRECT.

SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION OR EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

Legal Disclaimer

This warranty replaces all other express warranties. Any implied warranties, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are limited to the duration of this warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights; you may also have other rights depending on your area.

Arbitration and Dispute Resolution

As per the Terms of Service, any dispute or claim related to this Limited Warranty will be resolved through binding arbitration, rather than in court, except for qualifying small claims. The Federal Arbitration Act and federal arbitration law apply to arbitration proceedings, which will be conducted confidentially by a single arbitrator in accordance with the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”) rules. To the fullest extent permitted by law, arbitration or other dispute resolution proceedings will only be conducted on an individual basis—not as a class, consolidated or representative action. Both you and Cangshan waive objections based on personal jurisdiction, place of residence, improper venue, or forum non-conveniens and agree to forgo a jury trial.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

All matters arising out of or relating to this warranty are governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Texas without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule (whether of the State of Texas or any other jurisdiction) that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than those of the State of Texas.
